Thrifty Threading

Threading is a great way to develop fine motor skills. It is not a good idea to give little children beads but there are many other fantastic ways to do threading with children.  I recently saw this one where by you use old bottle tops. You can use a nail to hammer holes in the tops and then give the child string to thread through. You can make these as long as you like and either use them as decorations, string them across as a barrier to a room, hang them to scare birds in the veggie garden or give them to babies as toys!
